Fiction Plane’s song “Denied” from their new album “Sparks” will be featured in the summer blockbuster “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, starring Nicolas Cage. Premiering in American theaters on July 14
th and internationally the following weeks , the film is about a master sorcerer in modern day Manhattan who is followed by his newfound apprentice to try and defend the city from their arch nemesis.

Schollenpop stands for sun, sea, sand and of course live pop and rock music.
And that all for free. This year is the 14th edition of this successful popfestival which is held in front of the Dunes of The Hague, on the Zuiderstrand (South Beach) of Scheveningen.

Op Tweede Paasdag heeft Fiction Plane zijn single Push Me Around digitaal gepresenteerd. De track is afkomstig van het nieuwe album Sparks, de opvolger van Left Side Of The Brain dat onder meer de doorbraaksingle Two Sisters voortbracht. We spreken met gitarist Seton Daunt en zanger/bassist Joe Sumner, die goede herinneringen hebben overgehouden aan hun eerdere ontmoetingen met het Nederlandse publiek.
Seton: “Sparks is eigenlijk de opvolger van een live-album dat we in Paradiso hebben opgenomen. Die avond werd gefilmd door Fabchannel, waarna diverse mensen ons adviseerden om het officieel uit te brengen op zowel cd als dvd. Het was een bijzondere avond omdat de zaal uitverkocht was en we samen met de fans een geweldig feest hebben gevierd.”
Sumner: “We hebben alleen maar naar boven gekeken omdat we die zaal zo prachtig vonden. De opnamen zijn nog dezelfde maand gemixt en gemasterd in de beroemde Abbey Road Studios. We vonden het bovendien een mooi gebaar naar onze fans hier, omdat Nederland ons als eerste in de armen sloot. Het optreden op Pinkpop heeft op ons ook enorme indruk gemaakt.”

Fiction Plane had added a Spanish show to their fall tour. They are excited to return to Barcelona on the 29th September to perform at the LA2. Fiction Plane will be supported this evening by The South African band The Parlotones. Tickets go on sale Friday 25th of June. http://www.sala-apolo.com/

Symphonica is Rosso is proud to announce that the first guest artist for Symphonica in Rosso feat. Sting with The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Steven Mercurio at GelreDome Arnhem on October 15th and October 16 is confirmed. No one less than Joe Sumner, son of Sting, will perform with Sting during the 5th edition of the most prestigious and highly qualitative music spectacle of the Netherlands. Other guest artists will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Joe Sumner is the lead singer and bass player of UK/United States based band Fiction Plane. The band released their album ‘Sparks’ just a few weeks ago. They will be touring the Netherlands in September. Fiction Plane has previously performed at the famous Pinkpop festival and in Paradiso Amsterdam (sold out show).
