Out of My Face – new single from Fiction Plane’s album Sparks

The song “Out of My Face” will be the second single taken from Fiction Plane’s latest album Sparks. The single will hit radio end of August.

Fiction Plane recently shot their new music video “Out of My Face” at a deserted army base in Plymouth, UK. The video was shot with director Joel Mishcon and director of photography Neil Gordon. The video will be premiered beginning of September.

De frontman van Fiction Plane heeft het ruige imago klaarblijkelijk vaarwel gezegd. Hij staat met gladgeschoren kin en net jasje opeens vreselijk veel op zijn beroemde vader te lijken. Met een set die afgezien van het populaire Two Sisters een promotie is van het nieuwe album is goed te horen hoe de band gegroeid is. De nummers worden veel zorgvuldiger opgebouwd in langzame en tergende spanningsbogen met uitbarstingen die het publiek op zijn kop zetten. Er zijn uitgesponnen solo’s die getuigen van veel meer gevoel en volwassenheid. De kenmerkende stijl wordt behouden, maar overall wordt de druipende ironie van het vorige album losgelaten en er komt ruimte voor een verwachtingsvolle sfeer gevuld met hoop. Dit doet je verlangen naar het verhaal achter de nummers.

Second single taken from Fiction Plane’s album “Left Side of The Brain”. Directed by Jake Sumner 2008.This is the unedited version of the music video. The video was shot in a single day in New Jersey. It is a direct take of the 80’s cult classic Risky Business starring Tom Cruise and Rebecca De Mornay. The Director went to great lengths to match all the sets from the original film with the added twist of the current actors being very elderly.

Fiction Plane Music to be featured in "The Sorcerer’s Apprentice"

Fiction Plane’s song “Denied” from their new album “Sparks” will be featured in the summer blockbuster “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, starring Nicolas Cage. Premiering in American theaters on July 14th and internationally the following weeks , the film is about a master sorcerer in modern day Manhattan who is followed by his newfound apprentice to try and defend the city from their arch nemesis.
